its slightly over bloated with UI options making it not as user friendly.for what it does, I find it way too resource heavy on its PC load.I have a few reasons the main reasons are If your reading this and think why do I not recommend Firestorm (RLVa). For those with a higher end gaming PC you could give Blackdragon (RLVa) a go, it does feel very much like a MMORPG with its camera and mouse movement so it can be a challenge to SL users who have never played an MMORPG before.Īs for other views, although I have personally not used them in a long time, you will find most use the RLVa API. Other than Catznip (RLVa), based on if they wish to use RLV or RLVa, I generally point people too Alchemy (RLVa) or RestrainedLove (RLV) or Kokua (RLV) as their primary viewer. You will find links to several SL viewers at the TPV Directory. If people ask me which viewer do I use, my reply is always Catznip as my primary viewer and Blackdragon when I want to capture high quality DOF inworld photos. I would suggest if your wanting to use Marine Kelley’s RLV but with some additional features found in other viewers then you would probably want to look at Kokua. In terms of which SL viewer should you use, as long as you us one that allows RLV to be enabled your good to go. You will need to look at the release notes for the viewer. To see the difference between RLV and RLVa please view the Catznip Wiki page NOTE: Other viewers except the two mentioned above can often be several weeks or months behind in terms of when the API is updated. Restrained Love (Tested against v2.9.32.1)Ĭatznip (Tested against R13.2 & Beta R14.0.2) I tend to update (if required) the page once a year after I have tested Wardrobe against both new versions of As to the differences between RLV and RLVa, I have not seen these impact CTS Wardrobe. This page goes into a fair amount of detail into the nuances of RLV that can often trap novice users, best advice is to listen to long term RLV users. Any reference in these pages that only states RLV, should be interpreted as covering both RLV and RLVa. There are two implementations of RLV, the original RLV (Marine Kelley) used by Restrained Love & Kokua Viewers and RLVa ported/maintained in the Catznip Viewer (Kitty Barnett) and then rolled out to most other 3rd party viewers that have RLV functionality. They can also be used as a reference guide for seasoned wardrobe users.įor a more in-depth read as to the foundation of why I have wrote this tutorial, if you haven’t already, I suggest you go back and read the parent page. They should provide a getting started tutorial for new and/or novice wardrobe users who are looking for examples while becoming familiar with the system. The following tutorial pages starting with this page are meant to be read in sequence from section 1 through section 6 as you setup your wardrobe for the 1st time. The examples used on this page may no-longer reflect my current Wardrobe. Updated: 3rd February 2023 Consider this page Stabilized: I will only update this page if there are changes to the RLV/RLVa API's that impact current Wardrobe functionality.
